How are Susan Brocker books published?
- My more recent books are published by Scholastic New Zealand. These include 1914 Riding into War, Ice, Caged, and all my picture books. These can be purchased through many retailers and e-commerce sites in New Zealand and Australia, or you can order an autographed copy direct from me via this website.
- My five earlier novels, Restless Spirit, Saving Sam, The Wolf in the Wardrobe, Dreams of Warriors, and The Drover’s Quest, were originally published by HarperCollins New Zealand. I have recently regained the rights to these under my own publishing business, Brocker Books. They are printed on-demand via Ingram Spark in Australia.
- Bess and the ANZAC Horses is published by HarperCollins and is not available via this website – but you can click through to the HarpercollinsNZ or HarperCollins Australia websites which list purchasing options.
How are the books supplied?
- For New Zealand: we post the books direct to you from stock that we hold.
- For Australia: the “Brocker Books” novels will be shipped to you from IngramSpark in Australia. If you order a Scholastic book from this website we will post this to you from stock in New Zealand.
How is postage and packaging calculated?
- New Zealand:
- Postage and packaging to urban addresses is included in the book price.
- For rural post codes we add a freight charge of $5.50 per parcel to cover the NZ post rural surcharge.
- Australia:
- We charge a flat postage fee of Aus $6.00 per order to cover postage. Please note that this is a subsidy that does not cover the full shipping cost.
What payment options do you offer?
- Credit or debit card payments are processed immediately by Stripe, a secure, online payment service. Your order is confirmed at the same time. More information is available via their website or email us at info@susanbrocker.com if you have questions.
- We also offer Paypal as an alternative payment system.
How long will delivery take?
- We endeavour to pack and dispatch your order on the next business day following confirmation of payment.

How will my order be packaged?
- We make our own cardboard packages using recycled cardboard.
My order hasn’t been delivered. What should I do?
- We are committed to ensuring the safe arrival of your parcel. Simply email us via sales@susanbrocker.com and we will check and follow up.
My book has arrived damaged. What do I do?
- Please contact us immediately at sales@susanbrocker.com with as many details as possible including your order number and a photo of the damaged book(s) and/or packaging itself.
- This information ensures we can replace or refund your book(s) where necessary.
I’ve received the book and changed my mind about wanting to keep it. What do I do?
- Sorry, but we do not provide refunds or exchanges. We do our best to describe the books accurately to help you make a well-informed decision before you purchase.
- All sales via this website are final and you’re welcome to ask for more information before you buy if needed. You can contact me via info@susanbrocker.com.
Do you offer book tokens or gift vouchers?
- Not at the moment.
I want to send my order to a country other than New Zealand or Australia but can’t do that during the checkout process.
- The website is set up for New Zealand and Australia delivery only at this stage, but we’re happy to quote you a price for shipping to other countries. Email for more details via sales@susanbrocker.com.
I want to order from overseas for a book to be delivered in New Zealand. Can I do that?
- Yes, enter your details in the ‘billing address’ fields then scroll down to tick the box beside ‘deliver to a different address?’ Then you can enter a delivery address in New Zealand for your recipient.
I live in another country other than New Zealand or Australia and want to order a book to be delivered to my country. Can I do that?
- Please send you details to us using the contact form on the website and we will get back to you with a price to deliver a book to you.
- Please do not attempt to order a book via the checkout as we are only set up to supply in Australia and New Zealand at present.
